MLS club DC United have officially terminated the contract of Australian striker Danny Allsopp.
The former Melbourne Victory man spent just one season with the Washington club after signing from Qatari outfit Al-Rayyan in January.
The club announced that the 32-year old would not be with the club in 2011 despite having another year to run on his contract.
"We would like to thank Danny for his contributions to D.C. United and we wish him well in the future," club President and CEO Kevin Payne said in a statement.
Allsopp scored five goals in 23 appearances for DC but his highlight was when he netted a hat-trick in an exhibition match against English club Portsmouth.
