D.C. United secured a 2-1 victory over USL Puerto Rico Islanders in a pre season friendly. Two second half goals from Christian Gomez and Clyde Simms eased D.C to a 2-1 exhibition victory over USL1 Puerto Rico who scored a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
D.C. United face Los Angeles Galaxy on March 22nd for their 2009 season opener.
