DC United goalkeeper Bill Hamid has spoken of his first call-up to the USA squad. Hamid, 20, fielded a call from new US coach Jurgen Klinsmann before being named in the line-up.

"I was shocked," Hamid, 20, told the Washington Post. "As soon as I heard the voice, I knew it was him. I didn't listen to the rest of the message.

"I put the phone down and was like staring into a far-off land. I started crying a little bit."
