DC United chairman Will Chang is seeking potential investors to buy into the MLS franchise.
San Francisco-based Chang has hired help from investment firm Inner Circle Sports to identify potential business partners.
The major shareholder of DC United Holdings, Chang purchased 98% of the franchise from Victor MacFarlane in May last year but is now looking for local investors to make the club stronger but is not looking to sell his stake.
"It's about making the franchise stronger and having the community more entrenched and involved," Chang said.
"If I didn't believe in the franchise, I wouldn't have bought out the other partners - that is my vote of confidence and belief that the franchise has a huge future," he said. "I am passionate about the game and about the team, and I have no intention of getting out."
