DC United caretaker coach Ben Olsen is close to being offered the job on a full-time basis says the Washington Post.

Despite the club saying they want somebody with more experience, it seems likely that the man who replaced Curt Onalfo in August will be installed as the new head coach of the Washington-based club.

The 33-year old former midfielder did a decent job with DC despite them ending up on the bottom of the MLS table with the worst record in the league.

Sources say that a decision on DC's new coach will be made as early as this week with Olsen currently at the head of the list.
