DC United have signed former San Jose Earthquakes defender Nana Attakora.

The 24-year old Canadian international was taken by the Washington club in the second stage of the 2013 MLS Re-Entry Draft and has now agreed terms with the Black & Red.

"Nana comes with international experience and has a good understanding of what our league is about," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper.

"He will provide a good physical presence at a very key position."
