Dax McCarty fighting for FC Dallas future

Dax McCarty has seen an amazing turn around of optimism in the past few weeks, especially with regards to his future at FC Dallas. McCarty was asked to stay away from initial training sessions by Head Coach Schellas Hyndman and rumours were circulating that McCarty would be traded. No deal came through so McCarty reported back to training late January and by all accounts has not looked back since.

As for where McCarty wants to play on the pitch, he doesn't care.

"We have a lot of good players in the midfield and I think that's obvious this year," he told his team's official website "With the signing of David (Ferreira), that gives us an extra dimension in the middle of the field. Schellas knows I can play on the right side and in the middle, so when he asked me to go out wide, I had no problem with it at all. It's really easy to play in a midfield where you have three veterans that are all really good on the ball and all know their roles, especially with a guy like Dave (van den Bergh, who gives you such good width on the left."

FC Dallas host Chicago fire on March 21st in their 2009 Season opener.
