Tottenham skipper Michael Dawson has praised the club's ambitious transfer policy.

Dawson says Spurs were determined not to be hindered by the sales of players like Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart last season.

"You always try to improve," Dawson said. "You can't stand still in football because teams move on. We keep improving. We have a fantastic squad in that dressing room, everyone is hungry to do well.

"We want to achieve things."
