Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis is concerned Pompey do not get sucked into the relegation battle. The club find themselves five points off the relegation zone despite sitting in the usually safe position of 10th.
"We need to pull our finger out because people are closing in on us and we don't want to be dragged into a relegation dogfight," he told The News.
"You have got to do it and soon because if we keep playing like we did against Bolton we are going to be in trouble.
"We've got good character here in the squad, we've got good players, but we need to knuckle down and grind out results.
"Everyone's beating each other in this league so we need to get back to basics, work hard and try to keep a clean sheet.
"That's for starters because we have been conceding far too many goals lately. We're not a bad team overnight, we've still got the quality players, international footballers and we've got great spirit we really have.
"We just need to stick together, rally together and try to work hard and get the results that we need."
