Davis: Portsmouth must handle losing star players

Sean Davis insists there shouldn't be panic if Portsmouth sell their best players in January.

The midfielder said: "If the club sell all our players it is unfortunate, but we have got to get on with it.

"That's going to happen with the players we have got. We have big-time players here - Jermain Defoe, Glenn Johnson, Peter Crouch and Sylvain Distin.

"It might be frustrating for the fans that we sell our top players and seem like we are not trying to progress. But the players who are playing have got to play their hearts out.

"If the club are going to sell players then our objectives are probably to defend the FA Cup and to stay in the league. I just want to keep working hard and see where it goes. It is just disappointing for the fans because they wanted to continue the progress as well."
