Curtis Davies is close to earning a new contract at Aston Villa.
The Sunday Mirror says the centre-back, signed for £10m from West Brom, made his 23rd Premier League appearance for Villa in their 2-0 win at Arsenal.
After he plays 30 League games he can expect to earn around £40,000 a week.
