Charlie Davies has returned to his French club, Sochaux, five months after he was involved in a serious car accident.
The 23-year old USA international suffered multiple injuries in the crash that killed one person in October and after beginning his rehabilitation in his homeland, has now returned to eastern France to continue his road to recovery with Sochaux.
"I've come a long way," he told the club's official website.
"I'd say I'm probably a month away from being able to train with the team regularly, and then I need a little more time to be able to get match-fit again. So, you know, I'd say I'm not too far away from being able to play again."
Davies is intent on getting back on the playing field before the end of the French Ligue 1 season so he has a greater chance of being selected for Bob Bradley's USA World Cup squad.
