Curtis Davies is convinced it'll be only a matter of time before Nigel Reo-Coker joins his Aston Villa teammates in Fabio Capello's England squad.

Centre-back Davies was one of five Villa players selected in Capello's provisional squad of 30 for Wednesday's Wembley friendly with Switzerland, along with Gabriel Agbonlahor, Gareth Barry, Ashley Young and Scott Carson.

"I'd like to think Villa could form the backbone of the England team eventually," Davies told PA Sport.

"Nigel is a quality player. If he keeps playing the way he is playing, then I am sure Mr Capello will see his performances maybe merit a selection."
