Davies hopes to keep Villa place

Aston Villa defender Curtis Davies hopes he keeps his place for tomorrow's clash with Tottenham.

Davies, on-loan from West Brom, was outstanding in Saturday's win at Wigan Athletic and said: "It's been a long, frustrating wait just to start a game and hopefully I'll get another chance against Tottenham.

"I'm just delighted to score and help us to an important three points because I was growing tired of being the most-interviewed footballer never to play a game!

"We drew 4-4 with Spurs earlier in the season and they've just won 6-4 this weekend, so I might be busy.

"But against players of Berbatov, Keane and Defoe's quality, you expect that anyway. There's no point worrying about them."
