Davies: Fulham signings bring good competition

Simon Davies says Fulham manager Roy Hodgson's signing spree can only be good for the players.

The midfielder told fulhamfc.com: "We've got quite a few new faces in the squad and pre-season tours are always good to help everyone settle in and get to know each other. You spend all day with each other and have meal times together so it was a great opportunity for the new lads to settle in.

"I've experienced it myself, so I know how good it can be to help you feel part of the team. But that's out of the way now so we're all just looking forward to the start of the season."

Davies added: "With all the new players the squad's looking stronger and stronger all the time. The Manager's got a difficult job to try and shape his squad and shape his team, because there are a lot of players competing for places, but it's only healthy, it's what all good teams have."
