Davies Derby job remains in doubt

Billy Davies' future at Derby County remains in doubt, it has been revealed.

The Sun says despite statements to the contrary from the board it is understood there is also speculation over the future of boss Billy Davies, who threatened to leave after last season's promotion.

This is despite him signing a one-year extension to his contract recently, taking him through to 2010.

He has already been linked with the vacant position at Championship club Leicester, who parted company with Martin Allen a fortnight ago.

As well as being bottom of the table, County have conceded 15 goals in their five league games including a 6-0 thrashing against Liverpool.

They are also already out of the Carling Cup after a shock defeat on penalties to Blackpool last month.
