Davies: Agbonlahor back to his best for Villa

Curtis Davies says Aston Villa teammate Gabby Agbonlahor is back to his best after his scoring efforts against Reading.

The defender told the Villa website: "Gabby put in a good shift against Reading, coming back like he was from injury. You might have thought after an injury like that he'd need resting a bit. But he perhaps worked even harder to show he is back to his best.

"He and Ash linked up well together and Gabby could have shot himself for the first goal, but he allowed Ash to take the glory. That's the great thing about this team. We have players who want to play for each other.

"So often this season Ash has set other people up and we have scored a lot this season from his set-pieces, but he has shown he has the ability to score goals as well.

"He then went onto set up the second goal for Marlon Harewood as well, so it was a good day for him.

"A few people thought our recent trip to Spain might have been a jolly-up, but we worked hard out there and I think it paid off."
