Calabria made a stunning impact at San Siro when replacing injured Ignazio Abate.

“It was a wonderful night. I took a little while to get into the tempo of the match, but then tried to do my best," the 18-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“I played in the first two friendlies this summer and it went pretty well both on the right and the left, so in July the Coach told me I would be part of the senior squad.

“My idol has always been Paolo Maldini, but recently Mattia De Sciglio, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal."
