David Silva has joined Manchester City teammate Sergio Aguero in being ruled out of the derby with Manchester United.
The Spanish midfielder was also crocked on international duty when he hobbled off after just 11 minutes of Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Luxembourg.
A Spanish FA statement confirmed: “Silva is out due to a bad sprain of the internal lateral ligament of the right ankle."
He is likely to be sidelined for at least four weeks meaning, like Aguero, he will be unavailable for City's crunch Old Trafford trip on October 25.
