Manchester City midfielder David Silva insists there's no reason to change their style of football.

City face Southampton after two straight defeats this week.

“Our style is to have the ball, to have the possession and create chances. We should play like that against every rival, regardless of whether they press us high or they withdraw to just defend," said Silva.

“I think that our style should not change a lot, however, because it is what is most effective for us.

“Southampton are a good side and it will be difficult – will they play a high press? I don't know, but you need to play in one way in some games and sometimes in another."
