David Luiz is confident Andre Villas-Boas will remain Chelsea manager long-term.

Luiz has provided a ringing endorsement of Villas-Boas's reign.

"Am I convinced the manager will be here for a number of years? Yes, I am convinced. All teams have problems," said the Brazil centre back.

"It doesn't matter if you are young or old. I believe in the work the manager is doing.

"When the moment is not good the first person people will criticise is the manager. It's been difficult when we haven't got results because we are a good team.

"But when Chelsea win, the same people who criticise will say, 'Chelsea are great'. So for me this is normal. I believe in the job Andre is doing. In the future we will have success at Chelsea."
