Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian expects a tough challenge against Europa League opponents Anderlecht.

Darmian admits the 33 times Belgian champions will be a very different proposition to relegation-doomed Sunderland.

"We made it easy and played very well," said Darmian of Sunday's win which stretched United's unbeaten league record to 21 games.

“It was a good victory for us because the last two results had not been so good.

“Everything was made easier after Zlatan scored and then Seb Larsson was sent off.

“But Anderlecht will be a difficult game for us.

“We want to progress into the semi-finals so now we have to recover and prepare well.

“We've always known there is a possibility we can win this trophy.

“We know we can do it but now we have to demonstrate that on the pitch."
