Darlow own goal breaks Newcastle hearts in Burnley draw

Karl Darlow's own-goal ended Newcastle's chances of a valuable home victory over Burnley on Wednesday night.

The Magpies went ahead when Jamaal Lascelles headed home new signing Kenedy's corner after 65 minutes.

Unfortunately for the Toon faithful, who unfurled banners before the game voicing their displeasure with owner Mike Ashley, Sam Vokes' header onto the bar rebounded off Darlow's head to earn the Clarets an equaliser.

Spanish striker Joselu also had a penalty - earned by Kenedy - saved by Nick Pope while the game was goalless.

Rafa Benitez's side remain just one point off the drop zone.
