Darcheville keen to play out career at Rangers

His current deal with the SPL leaders is due to run until 2009, but his agent Karim Djaziri has made it clear that his client is keen to discuss a new contract as soon as possible.

"There have been a few clubs in England, France and Spain contacting me with a view to signing Jean-Claude in the summer," Djaziri said in the Daily Record. "I told Jean-Claude about the interest but he isn't moved by it all. All he wants to do is stay at Rangers and finish his career there.

"He sees no reason to move. He has settled straight away at Rangers and it has been a great transfer for him. He has many friends in the dressing room, he loves the supporters and enjoys life in Scotland.

"He has the chance to win four medals this season and what a great introduction to Scottish football that would be. We want to talk to the Rangers directors about the prospect of a new longer-term deal to keep Jean-Claude there until he finishes playing football."
