Daniel Sturridge missed the first day of Liverpool's La Manga training camp.

The Daily Star says he was forced to sit out of both sessions on Liverpool's first full day at their training camp.

Jurgen Klopp has taken his Reds to La Manga in south-east Spain for a five-day trip.

Sturridge, who did not feature in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Tottenham last Saturday, has not been able to train since the team landed.

The England international is suffering from a virus and medical staff decided it was best he remained at the team hotel.
