Barcelona fullback Daniel Alves has blasted Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho for talking down their Club World Cup triumph. Mourinho questioned the legitimacy of the tournament this week.

"Right now we are the best, the numbers are there and that hurts. To play in this you have to win the Champions League and we did, last weekend we won two finals. Envy is bad," Alves said in response.

"I always say that Mourinho plays a role and tries to talk down the achievements of others, giving value only to what he gets. We are not bothered what Madrid does because we do not feel inferior to them and if you are not inferior then such criticism means nothing.

"Instead, what we are upset about is that he continually denigrates what we do."
