Non-leaguer Barrow AFC are set to come under control of an American millionaire.
The Daily Mail says Dallas-based English millionaire Paul Casson is prepared to buy the club in memory of his late father, who lived in the Cumbrian town for most of his life.
He will invest around £2million in a bid to regain the Football League status lost in 1972, provided 75 per cent of the fan-owned club approve his takeover this week.
Casson, who studied at Loughborough University before moving to the US, has appointed two friends from his student days to represent him on the football and administrative side.
