Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has ruled out buying a Premier League club.
Jones believes close friend Tom Hicks was an "easy target" for Liverpool fans during his disastrous spell as co-owner at Anfield.
He said: "Tom is a good friend and was a pretty easy target. An American going over there, the same situation the Glazers had, that attracts some criticism.
"In college I played for the University of Arkansas and the only competition we had were all Texas teams, and certainly there was a bit of intensity when I bought the Cowboys from all of our Texas base being from Arkansas. I think Tom had some of that."
