Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is wary of gambling with Luis Suarez's long-term fitness.
Suarez is set to begin the new Barclays Premier League season from the bench after Dalglish vowed not to take any unnecessary risks with his fitness.
"Luis will be back next week some time," said Dalglish. "We'll start thinking about him then. Lucas is back and has been training since Monday. We'll just see with Luis when he comes in.
"He's had a fantastic summer. He's been fantastically successful in the Copa America, both as an individual and as a team player.
"He should be pretty happy with himself and pretty confident looking forward to the start of the season. We need to be careful with every player."
