Dalglish tips Toronto's DeRosario to make impact at Celtic

Former Houston Dynamo forward Paul Dalglish believes Dwayne DeRosario can make an impact if he does happen to sign on loan for Scottish club Celtic.

There is plenty of speculation at the moment linking the Toronto FC captain with a January shift to Parkhead and Dalglish, who played with the 32-year old at Houston, is adamant that it would be a good move for the Hoops.

And Dalglish went on to compare DeRosario with former Celtic star midfielder Lubomir Moravcik.

"I hope that this comes off because Celtic fans will love Dwayne," he told the Scottish Sun.

"However, like Lubo, they will see his class and they will probably wish that the club had signed him five years earlier.

"Dwayne is a bit special. He is one of these guys who can make something happen out of absolutely nothing - a real x-factor player.

"They have got a compilation of his goals on YouTube and you should do yourself a favour and have a look at it.

"He scores the kind of special goals that Matt Le Tissier used to get.

"He has got the ability to go and do something different that can change matches and, with no disrespect to Freddie Ljundberg, Dwayne's done a lot more in the MLS than he has in the last couple of years.

"Dwayne is something of a free-kick specialist but, unlike a lot of skilful players, he also works his socks off for the team."
