Dalglish remaining silent over Carragher tackle

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish saw Manchester United winger Nani stretchered off after a late tackle from Jamie Carragher, but refused to comment when asked if the Reds defender should have been dismissed. "I think he was fortunate to be playing for Liverpool today," Dalglish said.

"It's not correct to talk about incidents because the match was played in a great spirit."

Dalglish preferred to talk about the result and its impact on the Anfield faithful.

He added: "They deserved that for the discipline, application and pride shown in themselves and the club.

"It's been a tough season, it's not finished yet but this has been the highest point so far for our supporters."
