Kenny Dalglish is ready to return to Liverpool in an ambassadorial role.

The Mail on Sunday says Dalglish will make another emotional return to Anfield - in an ambassadorial role. Dalglish met the club's managing director, Ian Ayre, last week to discuss his return and to define his role.

It has yet to be decided if he will return as an international ambassador or to the academy. But the former player and manager is ready to return and crucially the move has the backing of owners John Henry and Tom Werner, manager Brendan Rodgers as well as Ayre.
