Former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker Paul Dalglish is taking his first steps into coaching at Houston Dynamo. Dalglish is coaching Houston's U18 team and told The Times he wants a career in management.

The son of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, Paul says that he has more confidence in himself as a coach than he ever did as a player - partly because he grew up in a household that revolved around football so he's seen the game from both sides, and also because he has an experienced mentor to call on whenever he needs a helping hand.

"It's no surprise to me that Darren Ferguson and Nigel Clough are doing well because they have seen first hand how to deal with issues behind closed doors and Darren Ferguson, like myself, has got one of the best advisors in the game on the end of the phone," he said.
