Dalglish gets backing from chairman after Liverpool parts ways with Comolli

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner insists that manager Kenny Dalglish has the full support of the owners following a tumultuous day at Anfield.

The Reds today parted ways with sporting director Damien Comolli, with head of sports medicine and science Dr Peter Brukner later following the Frenchman out the door, but Werner says that the Scotsman's position is not in jeopardy.

"We've got great confidence in Kenny," he told liverpoolfc.tv.

"We feel the team is going to make strides in the future and he enjoys our full support."
