Dagenham & Redbridge into League One

Dagenham & Redbridge have overcome Rotherham United 3-2 in the League Two final at Wembley to win promotion to League One.

Dagenham continued their meteoric rise from non-league club to third tier qualifiers thanks to goals from Paul Benson, Danny Green and Jon Nurse.

Ryan Taylor twice equalised for Rotherham but nurse's 70th minute goal put the Daggers through much to the delight of manager John Still.

"The club keeps growing every year and we have made unbelievable progress," he said.

"We were able to pay for our players to all have lunch together this season for the first time ever, and we may be able to pay for some afters now as well!

"I am sure Alan Irvine at Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton boss Alan Pardew are quaking in their boots at the thought of coming to Dagenham.

"I really don't know how we are going to do but this moment is for celebration.

"We will be the biggest favourites ever for relegation and I understand that. We will get whacked a few times, I don't doubt that, but we will be ready.

"The philosophy of this club will not change. We will not spend £1 if we only have 10p to spend."
