Dad says Blackpool ace Adam would be success at Liverpool

The father of Blackpool star Charlie Adam says his son has what it takes to be a success at Liverpool.

Liverpool are desperate to sign the ex-Rangers midfielder - but Blackpool have rejected Adam's plea to leave.

Charlie Snr told the Scottish Sun: "People look at Charles' time at Rangers and say he didn't make it there, but the fact is he played almost 100 games for them.

"He played in the Champions League and UEFA Cup.

"He was up against some of the best teams and players in the world and he held his own. And having been at one of the biggest clubs in Europe, a team like Liverpool would know he could handle the pressure of playing for them.

"I do think Blackpool have to remember they paid just £500,000 for Charles and are set to make a lot of money.

"But I also understand why they are looking for the best possible deal."
