Dad: Russian offer to Kosta Barbarouses too good to turn down

The father of former Brisbane Roar striker Kosta Barbarouses says the offer from Alania Vladikavkaz was too good to turn down.

The New Zealand international signed for Alania on the weekend after successful trials.

Dad Nick told TV NZ: "It was a good offer to be honest and for Kosta to move there, it's good exposure for him in Europe as well.

"From what I know, that club has been one of the best three football clubs to watch in Russia over the years and I think they've got a very good setup as well. And they are also in the Europa Cup so he has to make the move.

"Other clubs chased him as well but those guys were very serious and they put an offer on the table."
