Dad reveals Man Utd signing Falcao rejected Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal

The father of Radamel Falcao is proud of his son's move to Manchester United. Falcao's father has revealed Manchester United beat off competition from Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus to land the Colombian striker on deadline day.

Radamel Garcia said the three Premier League clubs and Juve showed interest in signing the 28-year-old from Monaco - but insists his son has picked a 'great team'.

He said: "Juventus, Manchester City and Liverpool were also interested and Arsenal late on. Fortunately he has ended up at Manchester United, a great team.

"Thank God for everything with Manchester United.

"Radamel is a person that has given a lot in Europe and he deserves the best for the effort and sacrifices he has made during his career.

"United are the most important team in England and one of the most economically powerful.

"Things with Real Madrid did not happen because if you have money to go to the market and buy a shirt or pants, you have to decide whether to buy or not. Real Madrid chose not to."
