Gary Megson's Dad has jumped to the defence of the Bolton Wanderers manager.
Proud dad Don believes Megson junior can still secure Wanderers' Premier League status.
"And he is holding up as well as can be expected in his position.
"I was a manager myself (with Bristol Rovers and Bournemouth) and been through difficult times like this.
"The most important thing in these situations is motivation.
"You have got to try and motivate yourself to motivate others. And in that respect Gary will have no problems.
"Bolton are in a tough position, no doubt about it. But I think he can keep them up.
"Gary has been in this position before though I'd have to say he probably feels more frustrated now than he has in the past."
Megson Snr also told the Manchester Evening News how the Bolton boss planned to deflect any negative vibes before the West Ham game by walking out before the team.
"Because of the planned demonstrations and protests, he said he would go out first so the crowd could have a go at him rather than the players.
"In the end the Bolton fans really got behind their the side."
