Cyclone Yasi postpones Fury v Roar clash

The Hyundai A-League Week 26 match between North Queensland Fury and Brisbane Roar scheduled for 8.15pm (EST) Saturday, 5 February at Dairy Farmers Stadium has been postponed due to tropical cyclone Yasi.

FFA officials have met with representatives from both Clubs, the host broadcaster FOX Sports and the venue and decided to make an early call to assist all concerned, especially traveling supporters, players and staff that may be affected.

This morning the Bureau of Meteorology upgraded Yasi to a category five cyclone.

"At the moment our thoughts are only with the people of North Queensland as we await to see how cyclone Yasi develops," said North Queensland Fury CEO Rabieh Krayem.

"Football is a distant second when it comes to the lives and welfares of the people of North Queensland but we will look forward to celebrating our Club and the season with our fans, families and friends when we get the opportunity."

The match will be rescheduled for another date to be decided following discussions between FFA, both Clubs and FOX Sports.
