Stoke City youngster Florent Cuvelier has signed a new deal with the club amidst transfer speculation linking him with Middlesbrough.
The 19-year old Belgium U21 international was set to come out of contract at the Britannia Stadium next month, sparking interest from the Teessiders, but he has poured cold water over that by putting pen to a new Potters deal.
Cuvelier has signed a deal keeping him at Stoke until 2014 and his agent Alex Levack said it was a relief to have things finalised.
"He sees his long-term future at Stoke and is now looking to get out on loan in the Championship and work his way back into the Belgium Under-21 team.
"He has proved himself at League One level and now wants to do the same in the Championship.""Florent is happy to have everything completed, despite interest from elsewhere," Levack told Sky Sports.
