Current owners not good for Liverpool - Arsenal great Henry

Thierry Henry believes Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, are having a negative effect on the club.

The American sports company made the decision to end the tenure of manager Brendan Rodgers on Sunday which attracted the ire of Arsenal legend Henry who feels John W Henry and co. are not true fans of the famous club or even football in general.

"You could sense from the way he was talking that something was happening already they must have had a discussion before the Everton game, but I want to go back to the owners," Henry said on Sky Sports.

"It seems to me like they don't really like football it seems to me like they kind of using the Liverpool brand.

"Listen, I have massive respect for Liverpool.. but it's not a big team any more.

"It is not and these owners right now are using the Liverpool brand and I don't think it's good for the fans or anyone that love Liverpool."

Rodgers had his Liverpool contract terminated following the 1-1 Merseyside derby draw with Everton which left the Reds sitting 10th on the Premier League table after eight matches.
