West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley believes he deserves more recognition for keeping the club up last season.

Last term Curbs turned around a 12-game winless streak to triumph in seven of the final nine games.

But Curbs, who celebrates a year in charge tomorrow, said: "I didn't really get a lot of credit.

"Perhaps my way of managing is not sexy enough or obnoxious enough.

"To win seven out of nine is a fantastic achievement and it will probably never be repeated."

Curbishley, 50, is now looking forward to a Carling Cup semi-final should they overcome Everton at home tonight.

He said: "If we can get a result against Everton then it will keep everything bubbling along.

"The fans love a cup run here at Upton Park.

"The crowd will be up for it."
