Cunningham makes surprise appearance at Columbus Crew training

Jeff Cunningham made an unannounced appearance at Columbus Crew training on Tuesday.

The 34-year old strike veteran was selected by the Crew in the MLS Re-Entry Draft in December but the player and club are yet to agree to a deal.

So it was a surprise to the players and coaching staff when the ex-Crew star, along with Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee, showed up to the training facility in Delaware County.

"He wanted to say hi and that he was sorry if he caught us off-guard by showing up unannounced," Crew technical director Brian Bliss told the Columbus Dispatch.

However, this impromptu visit has not made it any clearer if the former FC Dallas goalscorer will be back at Columbus Crew Stadium for the 2011 MLS season.
