Jason Culina has left Gold Coast United and will soon sign a deal with Newcastle Jets. The 30-year old Australian international midfielder has cut short his three-year deal with United and is expected to be unveiled as a new Jets player today.
Gold Coast gave the former PSV Eindhoven man permission to speak to other clubs and it is now highly likely that he will team up with father Branko at EnergyAustralia Stadium.
Culina was forced out of the remaining Gold Coast matches after injuring his knee whilst on Socceroos duties at the Asian Cup last month. He leaves the club after 43 matches in which he scored eight goals.
