Carlos Cuellar insists Aston Villa can still catch Arsenal for fourth-place.
He said: "I still think we can do it this season. We have good players here, the only small problem has been the recent results. We are creating lots of chances in games and we are feeling strong.
"We are in positive mood and we're confident we can start winning again and finish in the top four."
Cuellar insists Martin O'Neill's men can take plenty of positives from last weekend's last-gasp defeat to Manchester United.
The defender said: "The team were comfortable against Manchester United. Anyone who watched the game saw that Villa played well.
"We played good football and got a bad result, other times we have played badly and won."
