Cudicini pleased with performance in Spurs comeback

Carlo Cudicini was pleased to be back between the posts for Tottenham in their draw at Newcastle United.

The Italian made two impressive saves in the 1-1 result.

"You always hope when you make a save that it will count," Cudicini told the Spurs website. "You think 'I hope that will mean something at the end'.

"But it's also good for the team to come back from 1-0 down, away from home.

"We had to risk something, but we didn't concede too much. They had chances, we had chances and then we scored right at the end, so 1-1 is a good result for us.

"I think overall we definitely deserved a point.

"We did okay in the first half and had a chance right at the end and going 1-0 up would have been much easier. But in the end, it's a good point.

"We had good possession and had our chances, but in the end 1-1 is probably a fair result."
