CSKA Moscow have confirmed that they are in discussions with Italian club Lazio regarding the transfer of Keisuke Honda.

The Japan international has been on the radar of the Rome outfit for the past few weeks and could be on his way to the Serie A after spending two years with the Russian club.

CSKA president Yevgeny Giner has revealed that there are talks taking place but could not confirm if the two clubs will come to an agreement this winter.

"I can confirm that some Lazio officials came to Moscow to discuss a deal for Honda," Giner told Radio Mayak.

"The negotiations are still ongoing as we have not reached an agreement.

"Currently our valuations are around €2-3million apart. This could be sorted by tomorrow.

"I would not say the transfer will defiantly happen, but let's see what will happen in the coming days."
