Crystal Palace wrestle back ascendency from Everton for Mandanda

Crystal Palace look likely to land the services of Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.

French publication L'Equipe claim the France international has passed a medical with Palace and is set to move to Selhurst Park this summer.

The Eagles appeared to be in pole position for the 31-year-old free agent before Everton reportedly offered a three-year deal with improved terms.

However, it looks as though Alan Pardew has ousted the Toffees after it emerged in France that Mandanda has undergone a successful medical test with the South Londoners.

Hugo Lloris' France national team deputy will now compete with Wales number one Wayne Hennessey, the promising Alex McCarthy and veteran Julian Speroni for the gloves at Palace.
