Crystal Palace are expected to soon complete the signing of Joel Ward from Portsmouth.

The 22-year old defender is highly likely to depart Fratton Park following the south coast clubs relegation to League One and it is believed that an undisclosed fee has been agreed between the two sides.

Ward had emerged as a target for the likes of Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Burnley but it appears as though the Eagles have won the race for his services.
